[House Party]

Welcome to my humble abode. Year round, one of my favorite things in the world is hosting a party. From fresh flowers, to the smell of Archie’s homemade yummies, and the buzz of friends having a good time – it’s definitely my happy place. So today’s outfit is a casual house party look, with photos taken right from my living room.

[Golden Attitude]

It’s Wednesday and you’re alive, so why not live today like you’re Beyoncé. Sure, you don’t have a net worth of $1 Billion. Ok, so you’re not married to the world’s most successful rapper. Fine, you’re not reading this post from your TriBeCa penthouse. These are all just minor technicalities. It’s all about the attitude. You’re incredible. You’re fierce. Show the world.

So let me jump start your Queen Bee attitude with these awesome photos, shot at the stunning London Hotel. The space is what I imagine Mrs. Carter’s closet looks like. Can anyone confirm?

Here’s what I’m wearing:

Hugo Boss Blazer
Paul Smith Dress Shirt w/ Shoulder Zipper
All Saints Cigarette Jeans
Ted Baker Slip On Shoes
Tom Ford Aviator Sunglasses
Custom Black Quartz Ring

[Low Cost / High Fashion]

Normally, I’m a huge advocate for mix of high and low in daily outfits. But I decided to leave the Gucci sneakers on the shelf today with an all “low” post, testing just how high fashion I could twist it.

You’re shopping and spot a good-looking shirt on a rack. You want to touch it, you want to try it on, and most importantly you want to look at the price. If you’re really into it and see it’s inexpensive, there’s that immediate rush knowing you’re not going to hurt your wallet, but you are going to look hot.

These might be the most extreme photos I’ve published on Wesley Wears to date – and they’re some of my favorites.  Here’s what I’m wearing:

Forever 21 Hoodie
H&M Tank
American Apparel Cool Short
Nike Free Run Sneakers
KBL Sunglasses
Akribos XXIV Floating Black Watch

[Coming Up Roses]

Let’s serve a look today, shall we? I have a very important trend alert for you: The Jogger Pant. I was at a party a few weeks ago. There was a small group of impeccably dressed guys there. I had to guess by their style they were European, though never confirmed. They each a on a unique pair of fitted trousers, cotton based, most with a draw-string waist and elastic ankles. I had to have a pair and found they are a comfortable, stylish addition to an array of looks. Try replacing in one of your already fashionable outfits, where you’d normally wear skinny jeans, chinos, or slacks.

Here’s what I’m wearing:

Original Penguin Long Sleeve Floral Shirt
Zara Drawstring Trousers
Paul Smith Leather Contrast Shoes
Hermes Clic HH Bracelet
Tiffany & Co. Somerset Ring (Narrow)
Prada Sunglasses

[Let’s Play]

The NBA finals were on Sunday and yes, I actually watched the game. While I was in full Heat mode, though the San Antonio Spurs took home the title. This outfit was inspired by the big game and perfect for the Heat viewing party I attended. Styled with the help of allsaints, my look was casual and cool, while coming off completely put together from head to toe.

Here’s what I’m wearing:

All Saints Conroy Leather Biker Jacket
All Saints Crew T-Shirt
All Saints Stamp Cigarette Jeans
Original Penguin Hi Tops
Michael Kors Watch via Bloomingdale’s

[Stylish Sneakers]

This morning, the ThursdayStyles section of The New York Times was thrown down in front of me. A giant photo of four men’s legs wearing multiple styles of athletic shoes with the headline “A Rubber-Soled Revolution.” The general gist – fashion forward men are merging the worlds of sneakers and dapper dress attire. Sneakers are now the hottest accessory in menswear (see the NYT guide to sneakers here).

The blogger community has been rocking casual kicks with every manner of outfit for a while now. I wore this outfit to work yesterday… perfect timing :).
Here’s what I’m wearing:

Zara Draped T-shirt
Zara Drawstring Trousers
Coach Bleecker Lennox Bag in Pebbled Leather
Ted Baker Watch
Hermes Leather Hapi 3 Bracelet (Vintage)
Tom Ford Square Wayfarer Sunglasses
Nike Free Run Sneakers

[Short Shorts]

Ok, so you’ve seen these shorts before. And it was all fun and games while on was on vacation in Mexico, but I was nervous to attempt the short shorts on an average day in NYC. But thanks to some motivation from my friends at the Wall Street Journal (and tons of other publications) I decided to embrace the fact that 5 1/2 inch shorts are the new normal. So don’t be scared dudes – we can do this.

It’s still a little chilly at night here in NYC, so I kept this ox-blood cardigan on hand, perfectly tied in with the soles of my shoes (naturally). Here’s what I’m wearing:

Parke & Ronen Holler Shorts
American Apparrel Tri-Blend Rib Cardigan
Original Penguin Bing Polo
Cole Haan Wingtip Sneakers
Ray-Ban New Wayfarer Classic

[Highlighter]

On Friday, I helped one of my team’s interns on his personal self discovery in regards to showing his ankles this summer (he hilariously wrote about it here). For the past few seasons, men everywhere have ditched the socks and rolled up their pants in every manner of outfits. Jeans, chinos and even suits paired with sneakers, loafers, and saddlebacks are all perfectly acceptable with a cuff.

I’m guilty of doing this a little too much, but it’s so much cooler than a summer sock. Are you guys still into rolling your pants legs? What do you think will be the next trend when this is out? Looking forward to hearing from you.

In this #ootd, here’s what I’m wearing:

Original Penguin Short Sleeve Shirt
Club Monaco Chino
Aldo Sneakers
Fossil Watch
KBL Eyewear

[No Parking]

Did everyone have a great Memorial Day weekend? I spent a lot of time in the sun, which will be very evident in some outfit shots coming up on the blog soon. I was wearing this all black inspired outfit at work and decided to run out on the streets of Brooklyn to snap it for a quick Wesley Wears. I also got a ridiculous number of comments on this shirt, which is purposely made out of inside-out fabric. I dig it and it served as a solid conversation starter.

Here’s what I’m wearing:

Forever 21 Reverse Tribal Print Shirt
Levi’s 510 Skinny Fit Jeans
H&M Tank Top
Nike Dual Fusion Run Shoes
Ray-Ban Wayfarer Folding Classic with Blue Lenses
