Blue Blazers

Fall is in the air. And while we spent the summer sweating like Amanda Bynes at a traffic stop, we can finally pull out those blazers and cardigans for the office.

Adding a slim flit blazer to any average outfit (even a white T-shirt) immediately elevates your sense-of-style. This slim flit blazer from H&M has added complexity with the color-blocked lapel. This is the ideal look to take from the office to dinner, sure to impress in both places.

Sometimes, simple is best.

I love layering. In fact, it’s an essential part of my daily outfit. But sometimes… it’s ok to go simple. I enjoyed our transitional weather this weekend with this casual look. I’m also repping a new haircut by David at Takamichi Hair. If you’re in NYC, definitely give him a call for a new fall look.

Brunch with BarIII

A few weekends ago, I joined a group of top bloggers for brunch to celebrate Bar III’s fashion forward collection, sold exclusively at Macy’s. I styled this outfit perfect brunch look using the Bar III’s diverse men’s collection. You’ll see they’ve covered the biggest style trends in street wear, suits, and shoes.

If you know your bloggers, you’ve also spotted the Style Girlfriend herself, Megan Collins. There’s nothing I love more than meeting a perfect stranger and becoming instant friends. Megan and I had no boundaries and enjoyed a awesome, deep conversation on life, love, and custom closets. I’m sure there will be more of those in the very near future. So cheers to brunch, Bar III, and new friendships.

Here’s what I’m wearing:

Hello Yellow

Sure, summer is coming to a close, but that doesn’t mean we have to let go of all of the pops of color we’ve been featuring in our daily outfits for the past four months. Ok, so maybe “pop of color” isn’t the correct term to describe this brighter-than-the-sun short suit by marcjacobs, but you get the idea. Short suits finally went mainstream this year and I’ll transition this show stopping blazer straight into the fall. Since I was out on the beach, I paired the suit with a simple black tee from districtclothing

Here’s what I’m wearing:

Marc by Marc Jacobs Harvey Twill Cotton Blazer & Shorts
District Clothing Vintage Wash Crew Tee
Nike Free Run Sneakers
KBL Sunglasses

Alton Lane: Unmatched Custom Clothing, Unreal Customer Experience

Deep mahogany floors, a row of vintage whiskey bottles behind the bar, perfectly styled blazers lining the sun-soaked walls – I felt I had been transported into the ideal menswear clubhouse as I stepped into the New York showroom of Alton Lane. The luxury men’s clothing retailer has been causing waves in the industry by creating some of the most beautiful, luxury menswear pieces, all while revolutionizing customer experience.

After a chat with the CEO Colin Hunter, it was clear that the Alton Lane family is serious about reinventing the way men shop. In addition to the one-of-a-kind customer experience created in one of the brand’s six showrooms across the country, they’re changing the game on how men are measured for custom clothing. A state-of-the-art 3D body measurement system captures a digital scan of your entire body, leaving the Alton Lane designers with the extremely specific sizing stats. Garments are literally laser cut to your body’s exact measurements leaving you with the best possible fit.

After you’re measured, the fun begins. AL has built an infantry of world class fabrics and linings for you to choose from. From classic staples to bold patterns, you’re going get a custom piece that’s designed by you, for you. Colin and I both agreed that since I don’t wears suits on a daily basis, I needed to take the opportunity to try one of their bolder color combinations. The subtle pink stripe in the suit is highlighted by the custom linen shirt, also designed by Alton Lane.

Here’s what I’m wearing.

Alton Lane Suit & Shirt
Calvin Klein Extreme Slim Solid Tie
Prada Lace Ups
Ray-Ban Wayfarers
Ted Baker Watch

Visit Alton Lane for more information and to book an appointment at one of their showrooms.

[Fall Countdown]

I’ve got a serious case of the Fall-itch. And it’s not anything a little over-the-counter cream can clear up. I’m so ready for cooler weather, chilly nights, and not showing up to work sweatier than Lindsay Lohan at her weekly meeting with a parole officer.

So last week, #NYC gave us the sweet taste of fall with 70 degree temps and I couldn’t help but break out this light waxed denim jacket and suede boots to enjoy the taste of fall while it lasted.

Here’s what I’m wearing:

H&M Waxed Denim Jacket
District Clothing Vintage Wash Crew Tee
Zara Skinny Stretch Jeans
Zara Suede Bootie
Michael Kors Large Lexington Watch
Hermés Vintage Bracelet
Oliver Peoples Benedict Aviators

A Summer Twist

I’m kicking off the first outfit in my District Clothing, 1 Shirt 5 Ways, challenge with this chic office look. I always like to take an outfit to the next level by determining the traditional style and flipping it. By pairing this plaid Express blazer with white pants instead of black, the entire look became the perfect bold outfit for a summer day at the office. All of the accessories, which tap into the color green, pop off of the white denim. Removing the straps from this Louis Vuitton District GM messenger bag made for an ideal briefcase for this look.

Here’s what I’m wearing:

Express Plaid Jacket
District Clothing Vintage Wash Crew Tee
H&M White Slim Jeans
Louis Vuitton District GM Bag
Cole Haan Vibram Oxfords
Astor + Banks Chrono w/ Horween Chromexcel Watch
Ray-Ban Green Wayfarers

One Shirt, Five Ways

This week, District Clothing challenged me to style one of their classic T-shirts in five original looks. I’ll be breaking down these outfits over the next few weeks, but today is all about this ridiculously comfortable tee.

The District’s mission is to create the staple then sit back and let you create the statement. It was easy to incorporate this Vintage Wash Crew Tee into a variety of day-to-day looks. From the beach, to the street, to lounging around at home, the super-comfy shirt was a dream to wear. Even after a long day in the office, I’d come home and find myself just changing into shorts or PJs, keeping on the smooth tee for the night.

Stay tuned for a breakdown of the outfits you see here. For now, head over to District Clothing for inspiration on your next bold look.

[Summer Streetwear]

If you’re anything like me, it’s like pulling teeth to get me to wear pants during summer. Nothing’s better than a pair of shorts, sandals and oversized tee. But since the weather has been so glorious lately, I’m taking the 75+ temperatures as the prime opportunity to pull out some of my favorite trousers.

Here’s what I’m wearing in today’s look:

Zara Linen T-Shirt
Zara Stretch Trousers
Gucci Floral Sneakers
Astor + Banks Chrono w/ Horween Chromexcel
Prada Sunglasses
Coach Bleecker Lennox Bag in Pebbled Leather

[Snappy Casual]

I had some pretty big meetings in the city last week. I always get a little nervous the first time at a new spot, especially an office. You never know the dress code and while it’s true it’s always better to be over-dressed than under, you don’t want to be the smuck in a suit while everyone else is mega casual. I thought this outfit was a perfect choice for the risk of being over-dressed, but just causal enough to fit in.

I also have to say, against popular opinion, I’m not really a bow tie kind of guy. However, I love the handmade pieces by Beau Ties LTD. Full collections of ties, suspenders, cuff links, and tie bars really help pull an entire look together.

Here’s what I’m wearing:

Zara Cotton Blazer
J. Crew Button Down Shirt
All Saints Cigarette Jeans
Ted Baker Derby Shoes
Ray-Ban Wayfarers
Zara Bag
Astor+Banks Watch
